Fundraising
The MOST EFFECTIVE WAY to help Dragonfly is to conduct your own fundraiser! And you can get started today! Here are a few ways:
1. Create an online fundraising page HERE and share it on your social media.
2. Create a Facebook fundraiser!
3. Do a gift card drive at your church, school, party, etc. We can always use the following gift cards:

—Gas cards: 7-11, OnCue, etc.
—Dollar Tree
—Amazon
—Vanilla Visa Cards
4. Host an event or sell a product and donate proceeds. If you have an idea for something like this, please contact us at info@thedragonflyhome.org! We do have some guidelines for you to follow, but we’ll do our best to work with you on your idea!
Transition Home Volunteer Advocate
Looking for a way to make a hands-on impact helping human trafficking survivors right here in Oklahoma City? Look no further!
The Dragonfly Home has opened our 24-hour Human Trafficking Transition Home for survivors of human trafficking and their children.
Time Commitment: Varies, 8-12 hours per month
Position Summary:
The Transition Home Advocate Volunteer (TAV) is responsible for providing trauma informed, culturally sensitive advocacy and support to victim-survivors of human trafficking (HT) and their dependent children residing in the Dragonfly Transition Home (TH). The TAV will assist with day-to-day tasks related to the operation of and programming provided at the TH in collaboration with staff.
Primary Position Responsibilities (this is not an all-inclusive list of duties):
—Engages in the provision of trauma informed direct care services to client residents, including emotional support, crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy, and information.
—Facilitates cooperative living, peer support, and client resident participation in applicable programming
—Facilitates client resident groups and activities
—Models and actively promote positive, nurturing interactions between adults and children. Models healthy, non-violent conflict resolution skills
—Creates and contributes to daily log entries to facilitate communication with co-workers regarding client or program updates
—Performs routine chores and cleaning tasks assigned to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the facility
—Communicates communal living guidelines and expectations to residents, and addresses concerns as appropriate
—In collaboration with the staff, and as directed by the Program Director, promptly addresses difficulties or problems that arise in the TH
—Completes all applicable paperwork and entries into the client records database by the end of each shift; Maintains client files, agency files, statistics, forms, and other record keeping as required
—Packs client resident belongings as needed; cleans/sanitizes rooms after exit; prepares rooms for next client resident
—Advances the work of the agency in a manner consistent with the organization’s values
—Adheres to agency policies and state statutes related to confidentiality, child abuse reporting, and code of ethics
—Maintains professional boundaries
—Advances knowledge and attends trainings and meetings as assigned
—Complete and maintain all relevant documentation, including but not limited to service notes, Critical Incident Reports, exit forms, client feedback forms, etc. adhering to state statutes and federal grant guidelines
—Other duties as assigned
Skills, Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
—Associates or Bachelor’s degree, and/or experience in the Human services field (preferred)
—Bilingual: Spanish/English a plus
—Excellent listener
—Exhibits professional boundaries a must; has a good understanding of what it means to be an advocate
—Non-judgmental; able to build rapport with individuals who have different belief systems, life experiences
—Critical thinking, problem solving skills, and conflict resolution skills
—Ability to establish rapport with a culturally diverse population
—Willing to strictly follow supervisory directions
—Must comply with extremely strict confidentiality requirements
—Detail oriented, attentive
—Ability to multi-task
—Excel both in working as part of a team or on individual projects
—Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to get to and from TH

Community Outreach Volunteer
The Community Outreach Team is an opportunity for select volunteers to learn how to speak (both one-on-one for an informational table and public speaking scenarios) about human trafficking and Dragonfly, answer frequently asked questions, and practice skills in a safe environment.
PREREQUISITES: Volunteers must have finished Dragonfly’s Volunteer Training prior to joining Community Outreach Team.
Time Commitment: Varies; evenings, weekends, daytime for attending presentations/events; second Tuesday evening of the month
Primary Position Responsibilities:
—Attend monthly Community Outreach Team practices
—Learn and stay up-to-date with information provided by Dragonfly about human trafficking and The Dragonfly Home’s human trafficking victim services
—Carry out community outreach tasks assigned by Director of Communications & Development and/or Sex Trafficking Victim Outreach Coordinator, including but not limited to:
—Attending community outreach events to observe and/or participate as a Dragonfly representative
—Represent Dragonfly at an informational booth/table at a community event, festival, market, fair, etc.
—Give a public speaking presentation using the PowerPoint presentation created by Dragonfly at the time and location assigned by Director of Communications & Development and/or Sex Trafficking Victim Outreach Coordinator, presenting information provided by Dragonfly
—Volunteering at Dragonfly’s hosted community outreach and/or fundraising events
—Recognize that they are NOT permitted to present Dragonfly’s presentations, which is Dragonfly intellectual property, at any event or circumstance other than as assigned and approved by the Director of Communications & Development
—Recognize that they must adhere to training and parameters provided by Dragonfly when sharing information about human trafficking and Dragonfly when they are representing Dragonfly at events
Position Qualifications:
—Complete Dragonfly Volunteer Foundational Training
—Availability to attend monthly Community Outreach Team practices and daytime, evening, and/or weekend availability to work outreach events
—18+ years of age
—Ability to work well with teammates
—Preferred skills/interests:
——Communicating about human trafficking, including:
——One-on-one conversations
——Public speaking
——Organization
——Interest in learning and communicating detailed information
