Last December, as some of you guys may remember, I raised money in efforts to advocate for victim/survivors of human trafficking.
This December, I will participating in The Drive for Dragonfly for The Dragonfly Home.
The Dragonfly Home is Oklahoma’s only state-certified program dedicated exclusively to serving human trafficking survivors, as well as the only state-certified service provider in the capital city, OKC.
The Dragonfly Home specializes in providing comprehensive trauma-informed, victim centered direct care and protection to victim/survivors of human trafficking. They deliver programming inspired by a diverse array of survivor experiences while upholding the highest standard of care.
This past summer, I had the opportunity to do a small internship at this non-profit. It was an unforgettable experience, and I have enjoyed my time working with passionate and intelligent women, all while learning more and more about the complex issue of human trafficking. This December, I have the pleasure as serving as one of the group coordinators for Drive for Dragonfly.
For the next 31 days, my attire and the symbols on my hand will hopefully serve as the ultimate conversation starter to bring awareness and raise funds. Human trafficking is modern day slavery, and this drive serves as a form of dignity for the victims— because every woman, man, and child has the right to a vibrant and free life.
I will continue to share more information and different ways in which you can help.
