January is Human Trafficking Awareness month!
This has been a topic that has been near to my heart since I first attended an emergency care conference and learned that human trafficking exists here in our community. At that time I was a fairly new mother and never realized the nearness (or even the realness) of this crime. I know that as a healthcare provider, a parent, and especially as a Christian, I am called to stand up for those who are vulnerable. Persons who are trafficked are vulnerable and hurting. We can be a part of the solution and stand up against this crime.
By equipping ourselves with education and resources, we can be an active part of prevention strategies as well as help to take care of those who have been and are currently being impacted by the terrible and detestable crime of human trafficking.
We would love for you to consider donating as well as educating yourself on the facts of Human Trafficking and the available resources to prevent and combat this crime. The Dragonfly Home is a wonderful, local, non-profit organization that works tirelessly to serve victims and survivors of human trafficking as well as to raise awareness, educate communities, and be a part of the solution in this Fight for Freedom!
