When survivors of human trafficking come to The Dragonfly Home, many set the goal of overcoming substance abuse. Some trafficked people may be forced to use drugs and alcohol by a trafficker. For others, drugs and alcohol are their only available means of coping with the trauma of being sold as a product day in and day out. When they exit human trafficking, they often want to overcome addiction as part of building a new life.
The Dragonfly Home connects the trafficking survivors we serve to excellent programs that specialize in substance abuse recovery, while providing plenty of support and encouragement along the way. It’s such an honor to walk with these incredibly strong people as they work hard and make progress toward their addiction recovery goals!
