Meet Alexis.*

Alexis was born and raised in Oklahoma City. She was also a survivor of human trafficking.

Alexis was a senior in high school who loved playing volleyball and singing in choir. One weekend, she went with a friend to a party where she didn’t know many people. She was flattered when a couple of cute guys spent the evening talking to her. She didn’t know they were gang members.

The gang members drugged Alexis and the next thing she knew, she was trapped in a hotel room. She was so foggy when she woke up that she couldn’t move – a terrifying experience. After several violent beatings, Alexis knew if she tried to leave, they would kill her. The gang began forcibly selling her for sex to multiple men a night.

Alexis sustained injuries and severe psychological trauma from the violence of the traffickers and sex purchasers. As the months passed by, she quickly lost all hope of ever gaining freedom.

Thankfully, her story didn’t end there.

One day, law enforcement intervened and referred Alexis to The Dragonfly Home. She received immediate medical attention and extensive mental health counseling. She determined to finish her education and, after attaining her GED, is now attending college to become a teacher. She is on her path to a future of freedom. Help more like Alexis today! Donate to The Dragonfly Home

The Dragonfly Home is Oklahoma City’s only state-certified service provider dedicated exclusively to serving human trafficking victims like Alexis.

Our goal for serving human trafficking victims in 2018 is even bigger.

We plan to expand our services substantially to help more victims of human trafficking through our non-residential human trafficking crisis center, the Human Trafficking Relief and Restoration Center. We also plan to open The Dragonfly Home Human Trafficking Shelter in 2018!

We need YOUR help to make it happen! That’s why we’re setting a big goal: to raise $25,000 by December 31st! This amount will increase our ability to reach so many more victims of human trafficking in need.

Would you be willing to make a special, tax deductible, year-end donation to help victims of human trafficking like Alexis? Whether you give $10, $50, or $100 – or perhaps a gift in the range of $1,000, $10,000, or $15,000 – however you feel led to give will be a blessing.

Please consider your most generous donation. The Dragonfly Home is Oklahoma City’s only state-certified agency serving human trafficking victims. We serve victims from Oklahoma, as well as those from across the country who have been sold for sex in the Oklahoma City area.

We simply can’t do it without you. The lives of thousands of others like Alexis are at stake. Your support will make a real, lasting impact in the lives of human trafficking victims. Donate to The Dragonfly Home.
